11. Efficient method for one-pot synthesis of antifungal active 8-methyl-3,6,8-trisubstituted-7H,9H-[1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-b][1,2,4]triazepines using greener ionic liquid

A simple and fast procedure is developed for the one-pot synthesis of novel 8-methyl-3,6,8-trisubstituted-7H,9H-[1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-b][1,2,4]triazepines from 5-aryl-3,4-diamino-1,2,4-triazoles and acetophenone or substituted acetophenones in the presence of 1,3,5-trimethylpyrazolium tetrafloroborate room-temperature ionic liquid by stirring at 800C in a pre-heated oil-bath. The method is simple, fast and economic and gives moderate to good yields of products and are in a state of high purity. Some of these compounds are evaluated for antifungal activity. Aromatic ketones substituted with different electro withdrawing and electron-releasing groups work well in the reaction. Moreover, 1,3,5-trimethylpyrazolium tetrafloroborate room-temperature ionic liquid is found to be recyclable for at least three consecutive runs without loss of much activity that makes the process cost-effective which is one of the most important feature of green chemistry.
