In the present study, the anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect of the methanol extract of Anogeissus acuminata leaf was investigated. The methanolic extracts of Anogeissus acuminata leaf were ingested orally (p.o.) in the form of suspension in 0.5% Tween 80 in two different doses, 200 and 400 mg/kg body weight). The anti-inflammatory effect of Anogeissus acuminata was tested in: carrageenin-induced paw oedema in wistar albino rats and formalin-induced paw oedema in Swiss albino mice and compared with the standard, indomethacin (5 mg/kg body weight). The analgesic effect was evaluated in Swiss albino mice by Eddy’s hot plate method and compared with the standard, aspirin (25 mg/kg body weight). The results showed that Anogeissus acuminata has significant reduction (p≤0.01) in inflammation i.e. 66.67 % (200 mg/kg body weight) and 77.78% (400 mg/kg body weight) as compared to the standard drug, indomethacin, which was 88.89%. In assessing analgesic effects, there is a significant (p
