ABSTRACT
Acute appendicitis within hernia sac termed Amyand’shernia was described firstly by Claudius Amyand. It hasbeen approximately found in 1 % of cases of inguinal hernias.In this study, we reported a 24 years old man diagnosedwith inguinal hernia, which was found appendixvermiformis in the sac of hernia intraoperatively, the othername Amyand’s hernia. Diagnosis of Amyand’s hernia isdifficult preoperatively and is a rare form of inguinal hernia.J Clin Exp Invest 2011; 2 (4): 446-448
