Sequential and non sequential extracts of Cassia tora Linn. leaves with various solvents such as hexane, benzene, chloroform, ethyl acetate, acetone andmethanol were tested for anti bacterial activity against nine bacterial human pathogens. Phytochemicals of the extracts such as Total antioxidants, totalphenolic compounds, and total flavonoids were measured. The results showed that the non sequential method was suitable for antimicrobial activity andchloroform and acetone were suitable solvents to extract the bioactive components from Cassia tora leaves. Five different fractions of TLC from bothsequential and non sequential extracts showed inhibitory activity towards Klebsiella pneumoniae and Shigella boydii in the antibacterial study.
