ABSTRACT
This paper analyzes the relationship between body and space uses of correctional institutions, from material collected in an ethnographic re-search conducted in schools for young people "in conflict with the law" of the city of Cordoba. The body is considered here as a symbolic con-struct whose representations are linked to social status, a world view and definition of the person (Le Breton, 1995). From this, it seeks to in-vestigate some social applications built in these institutional settings, and different interactions occurred between the young and institutional staff. Thus, the job takes a tour of practices that constitute a process in which different ways of showing the body, hiding, playing on the edge and consider embodiment as a capital (Wacquant, 1999).
