ABSTRACT
Face detection and recognition play an important role in the process of biologic character identity. Biological character identification happens in two phases, first is the face detection and then recognition. Face detection is performed by feature extraction considering skin color model and performing skin segmentation and morphological operations in different environmental variations. It extends with extracting the skin color regions by skin likelihood and then the obtained face is cropped, scaled and stored in a specified location using the digital image processing techniques. For the purpose of face recognition, cropped face images are projected onto a feature space (face space) that best encodes the variation among known face images by using Eigenface method to identify the authenticated person.
