ABSTRACT
The process of amplification of electromagnetic waves in autophase free electron laser (AFEL) with a right-hand polarization wiggler field with opposite focusing field is considered. The constructed theory of autophase FEL allows taking into account the adiabatic profile not only of the wiggler field, but also the opposite focusing field and the phase velocity of the combined wave. The account of such profiling can receive AFEL electron efficiency up to 58% in a wide range of the control parameters.
