ABSTRACT
This paper presents a new face database containing only black face images. It isdesigned to be used for benchmarking algorithms developed for skinsegmentation, face detection and recognition under real life situations. Thedatabase contains coloured images of black faces in JPEG formats taken over aperiod of two years (2007-2009). It contains three subfolders, where the imageshave been grouped for face detection, face recognition and face trackingpurposes. There are over 100 images for face detection containing more than150 face images and 600 images of ten per 60 individuals for face recognitionand 10s video sequences of ten black faces. An interactive Graphic UserInterface (GUI) was developed in MatlabĀ® (7.4.1a version) for the face databaseproviding basic information about the images as well as creating an interactiveand easy to use environment.
