In this paper we propose a new approach for comparing stock market patterns behavior with DNA sequences using a compression based technique. The behavior of the stock market is put into sequence of 0’s and 1’s which was converted to the sequence of nucleotides A, T, C, G. Here we propose a compression algorithm “Huffman Coding “for DNA sequences based on a novel algorithm of assigning binary bit codes (0 and 1) for each base(A,C,G,T) to compress DNA sequence. This sequence so obtained is matched to the textDNA sequence by using BLAST. It is found that the certain sub-sequences of the sequence match cent percent with sub-sequences of Homo sapiens chromosome 19. Possibility using this approach to predict the stock market behavior is explored.
