ABSTRACT
This study aims to debate the importance of the participation of basic education teachers who act as supervisor teachers in the Programa Institucional de Bolsa de Iniciação à Docência (Pibid) (Institutional Program of Scholarship for Teaching Initiation) in its process of continued education and the impact of this program on the school routine. Our objective is to discuss the impact of Pibid in the continued education of supervisor teachers of the schools which have adopted it, by understanding the reasons which led them to take part in the program, the difficulties they face, the cultural and formative environment that they find, and the impact of Pibid on the school. We have worked with the hypothesis that a program headed to the initial education of teachers can promote exchanges of knowledge between experienced teachers and those who are still in the process of education, providing moments of continued education. It could be observed that the program provided access to some cultural and formative environments, enabling new teachers to have contact with new teaching perspectives that contribute to their educational process as much as to the development of their work with the students, affecting the school.
