ABSTRACT
A series of new metal chelates of Sn(IV) and Zr(IV) with the thiosemicarbazonesformed by condensation of isatin with thiosemicarbazides have been synthesized andcharacterized. Following the synthesis conditions, two types of complexes were obtained:[M(HLI)2]; [MLII2]Cl2, where: H2LI = isatin 3-thiosemicarbazona; HLII = N-metil-isatin3-tiosemicarbazona; M=Sn(IV), Zr(IV). The complexes were characterised by IR, diffusereflectance data, elemental analyses and molar conductivity measurements. The experimentaldata suggest that the ligand acts as tridentate, and in function of reaction system, can coordinatesin two different forms.
