ABSTRACT
New metal chelates of Sn(IV) and Zr(IV) with isatins have been synthesized andcharacterized. Following the synthesis conditions, two types of complexes were obtained:[M(HLI)2Cl2]Cl2; [MLII2Cl2]Cl2 and [MLI2Cl2], where: HLI = isatin; LII = N-metil-isatin;M=Sn(IV), Zr(IV). The complexes were characterised by elemental analysis, IR and NMRspectroscopy, diffuse reflectance data and molar conductivity measurements. The experimentaldata suggest that the ligands acts as bidentate (OO), and in function of reaction system, cancoordinates in two different forms.
