Cystic lymphangioma of the breast: A case report

Aim: Cystic lymphangioma is a rare lesion in adult breast, only a few cases have been documented in literature. The aim of this study was to report a cystic breast lymphangioma of a female adult.Methods: 40 years female presented with a lump in the left breast measuring 10 x 10cm. Ultrasonography (USG) and fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) were performed. Simple mastectomy was done on left side of the patient and histopathological and microscopic examinations were performed on the specimen. Results: The USG and FNAC were suggestive of cystic lesion. Histopathology has confirmed the diagnosis as cystic lymphangioma. Conclusion: Local surgical excision is treatment of choice and histopathology is the mainstay of diagnosis. Possibility of recurrence is very low.
