Design of good quality factor and high selectiveBand pass filter (BPF) is an emerging challenge ofmicrowave engineers in modern RF, microwave andmillimeter wave communication systems. Front end of thereceiver in a communication system demands highperformance BPF to select the required signal from theunwanted adjacent signals with improved selectivity. In thispaper one end coupled Band pass filter with centrefrequency 2GHz and 30% Fractional Bandwidth (FBW) at-20 dB has been designed with 4 rectangular split ringcoupled resonators forming with 50 conventionalMicrostrip transmission line. This designed BPF has beensimulated with the help of MoM besed IE3Delectromagnetic simulation software. The proposed BPFprovides first unwanted harmonic or spurious nearer to thetwice of its passband centre frequency and some otherhigher harmonics at different higher frequencies. Therefore,in this paper attention also has been given towards thesuppression of harmonics with the help of Defected GroundStructures (DGS) in addition with the proposed coupledmicrostrip BPF. Finally, one novel BPF has been designedfor Satellite, GPS and Bluetooth applications of modernwireless communication systems.
