ABSTRACT
The present paper approaches a permanent magnet optimisation design and analysis of a threephase Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor(PMSM)for electrical power assisted brake system in automotives. Finite element method is used in order to analyze the performances of the machine at no-load regime, in order to obtain a minimal cogging torque. For this purpose, the magnet arc length is varied and aand several models are being comparated in a parallel manner. Also, a Fourier Tranformation is being applied to the machine air gap flux density for spectrum analysis.
