ABSTRACT
The paper analyzes, based on literature and studies undertaken by specialists, the changes produced during the Romanian transition to a market economy, the content and structure of professions and occupations closely related to changes resulting from technical progress and the broad phenomenon of globalization, specifically epoch. The main changes to increase the share of occupations that require a high level of skill of those in service at the expense of primary and secondary professions, and training need through qualification procedures, the key skills - cross, such as: problem solving, critical thinking, communication skills, language skills, more generally, "non-routine skills. This requires profound changes in the structure of school curriculum to be consistent with labor market developments.
