ABSTRACT
The experiment was conducted with the purpose of evaluating particle size (small = 1.4 cm and large = 3.5 cm) upon the chemical composition and fermentation characteristics of sorghum silage obtained from different conservation silo types (PVC laboratory type and pie commercial type). The values obtained showed that parameters such as dry matter, crude protein and lignin content did not have associated or isolated effects (P>05) on particle size (small and large) and type of conservation silo (PVC experimental and pie commercial types). The parameters: insoluble nitrogen in neutral detergent, insoluble nitrogen in acid detergent, fiber in acid detergent , cellulose, organic matter in vitro digestibility , digestible energy and compact efficiency based on the dry matter or green matter of experimental silage tended to present different nutritional quality (P
