ABSTRACT
Study of hydraulic transients in hydropower plants especially in hydraulic turbine units with penstock is an important aspect. These transients cause large pressure and sub pressure oscillations in turbine hydraulic system. Hence these must be evaluated to avoid mechanical failure.
