Introduction: Osteoarthritis is the most prevalent chronic disease that affects the musculoskeletal system. Group exercise program provides mutual support, exchange of experiences and optimize pain control. Objectives: To investigate the effect of physical therapy intervention group on pain and quality of life of patients with chronic pain due to osteoarthritis. Methods: Ten volunteers were evaluated for pain and quality of life before and after intervention. It consisted of group exercise sessions twice a week for eight weeks. Results: There was a significative difference in average scores for physical functioning, physical role, body pain, vitality, social functioning, emotional role and mental health when comparing patients during pre and post-intervention. Conclusion: Exercise therapy group reduced levels of pain perception and promoted a positive impact on quality of life.
