ABSTRACT
Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs) also called meshnetworks are self-configuring networks of mobile devicesconnected by wireless links. MANETs are deployed insituations where there is no existing infrastructure, such asemergency search and rescue, military, etc. Each applicationhas a different set of requirements. This paper considersenergy routing protocols and workload balancing techniquesfor improving MANET routing protocols and energyefficiency. We give routing protocol that employs loadbalancing technique to the MANET routing protocols withnode caching enhancement. For energy efficiency evaluationof the protocols with limited power supply, the primaryobjectives of MANET routing protocols are to maximizenetwork throughput, to maximize energy efficiency, maximizenetwork lifetime, and to minimize delay. The networkthroughput is usually measured by packet delivery ratio whilethe most significant contribution to energy consumption ismeasured by routing overhead which is the number or size ofrouting control packets. The simulation will be done usingNS2 network simulator.
