ABSTRACT
Painful tingling, numbness, weakness of the hands or upper extremities may be the result ofthe entrapment of a peripheral nerve. Although these problems are common, they sometimeslead to diagnostic and management difficulties. A thorough knowledge of the anatomy of thecommon entrapment sites, the pathophysiology of the nerve injury, a detailed history andphysical examination together with electrodiagnostic studies usually lead physicians to theright management. Most common upper extremity entrapment neuropathies are encounteredin this review.
