ABSTRACT
The purpose of this paper is the evaluation of the relationship between bone density and isokinetic muscle strength of the people who make sports and who dont make and put forward the importance of making exercise. It is executed with 40 sportsmen who are between 20-25 and make active sports in the branches of football and basketball and 20 healty people between 20-25 and do not make sports. With this purpose, demographic, isokinetic muscle strenght (820–130 Biodex 3 system isokinetic exercise) and femur nec bone density (Hologic QDR 4500C Fan Beam X-Ray Bone Densitometer [DEXA]) measuraments of people who joined this study are taken by fixing their preparations. Evaluations carried out in terms of body weight and bone density (femur nec [gr/cm2]) proved that there are important differences between control and test group by statistical aspect (P≤0.001). In terms of 60°/sc, 180°/sc and 240°/sc right extension isokinetic muscle strenght, it is determined that footballl and basketball groups are higher than control group (P≤0.001). When we examine the results of 60°/sc right flexion isokinetic muscle strength, football group is higher than basketball and control groups at the same time it is determinet that there are similarities between basketball group and control gorup (P≤0.01). In terms of 60°/sc, 180°/sc and 240°/sc left extension isokinetic muscle strength, it is determined that basketball and football groups are higher than cantrol group (P≤0.001). In 60°/sc, 180°/sc and 240°/sc right extension basketball group, it is determined corelation at the high level in the rate of bone density this studys findings proved the relationship between isokinetic muscle strength and bone density.
