Objectives: The aim of this study was to investigate adrenalgland size, and whether there is a thickness differencebetween two sides of adrenal glands by multi- detectorcomputed tomography, by which anatomic detailscan be evaluate better.Materials and methods: Totally, 100 patients, who donot have adrenal gland pathology and outer adrenal glandbody, are analyzed retrospectively by computed tomographywith 16 and 64 detectors in regards of bilateral adrenalgland thickness. Results: After measurements, it was found that the differencebetween both adrenal gland medial and lateral limbthickness was statistically significant (p< 0.001, p=0.035).But no significant difference was found between both adrenalgland bodies (p=0.611).Conclusions: It was observed that left adrenal gland wasthicker than the right in regards of variety. Further studiesare necessary to conduct comprehensive investigationsin regards of standardization of adrenal gland thicknesses.J Clin Exp Invest 2012; 3 (3): 392-394Key words: Adrenal gland, multi-detector computed tomography, thickness
