An Examination of the Attitudes of Students and Professors at Early Childhood Education Programs Regarding Drama Courses at the Preschool

ABSTRACT
This research was carried out in order to analyze by using certain variables the attitudes of pre-school teaching department students who have taken drama course towards this course. The research sample is composed of 50 students who have taken the drama course for pre-school teaching as part of their university education. They were selected on a random basis from students attending the pre-school teaching department in the education faculties of universities in Ankara. In addition 10 instructors running drama courses in pre-school education classes formed part of the sample. Data was collected using the “Evaluation Scale for Attitudes towards Drama in Pre-School Education” developed by researchers, and considered sound in terms of validity–reliability. The Mann-Whitney U test was used to see if there was any difference between the attitudes of instructors and students towards drama in education. Finally the differences in attitudes between instructors and students towards drama in education were recorded.
