ABSTRACT
Fractal image compression is a relatively effective technique based on the representation of an image by a contractive transform, on the space of images, for which the fixed point is close to the original image. A new method is proposed using image block pixels patterns. The technique described here utilizes fuzzy c-mean on pixels patterns to classify the image blocks, which provided a stepwise precise searching. Experiments show the validity of the given approach corresponding to speed up and the quality of the reconstructed image.
