ABSTRACT
Objective: To characterize the personality disorder from the movie The Chocolate Factory according to dynamic psychiatry and the diagnostic criteria defined by the DSM-IV. Method: The method used for case study of the film The Chocolate Factory by considering the best source for data collection due to the complexity of the object ofstudy. Results: In the movie The Chocolate Factory, Willy Wonka, the main character can be identified as someone with schizotypal personality disorder through the presence of nine diagnostic criteria. Regarding family life, there is the importance of paternalrelationship pattern in the construction of schizotypal personality of the character Willy Wonka. Conclusion: It is understood that this case study can contribute to the teaching of personality disorders in a creative and interesting way as it shows important points forthe training of nursing professionals for effective intervention in the Mental Health area.
