First record of Elachistocleis ovalis (Schneider, 1799) (Amphibia, Anura, Microhylidae) in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

ABSTRACT
We present here the first record of the genus Elachistocleis for the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. A specimen of E. ovalis was collected in the municipality of Itaperuna, northwestern state, in a seasonal semideciduous forest area. Elachistocleis ovalis is the sixth species of Microhylidae recorded in Rio de Janeiro.
