ABSTRACT
Losartan potassium is an anti hypertensive drug prescribed alone or in combination with other medications to help control hypertension or high blood pressure. The purpose of this research was to develop a bitter less oral disintegrating tablet of Losartan potassium by effervescent agents. The two essential effervescent agents were used for producing better effervescence while preparing these tablets that are Citric acid and Sodium bicarbonate. The tablets were evaluated for Pre compression parameters e.g. Angle of repose, Bulk density, Tapped density, Carr’s compressibility index and Hauser’s ratio and post compression parameters like drug content, hardness, wetting time, friability Thickness and diameter and In vitro dissolution Before the formulation of the tablets XRD studies was also performed to check the compatibility with the excipeants . The tablet has shown good taste and disintegration time in oral cavity.
