In this paper we propose to move towards a critical pedagogy of educational and cultural models, of development models and of the ways in which the other is represented for the hegemony. We will focus on how the Mapuce people is present in the narrative of the museums (historical, cultural and natural ones) and as an object of attraction and tourist consumption. We also wish to reveal the regimes of representation of otherness in which it is based. We consider this task of utmost importance to conceptualize dissent epistemic. This is one of the main objectives of our current research project: ‘Interculturalism, Epistemology and Decoloniality: the Emergence of “Other” Knowledge in the Mapuche Struggle for Education, Land and Culture’.
