The Hartlaub’s & Trinks’ Materia Medica Pura (Reine Arzneimittellehre) stands among few large collections of provings owned by the homeopaths. It has never been wholly translated to English, and perhaps to any other language. As a result, few people know and fewest have used it. However this materia medica was instrumental to make Hahnemann’s and Allen’s largest books. Any pathogenetic symptom is always a fact to which time only will add clearness and facility to understanding. Since it wasn’t translated, the homoeopathic repertories, written originally in English, don’t include a large part of its symptoms. Books that aren’t read and published tend to disappear and, in the case we are mentioning, a loss would be large to Homeopathy. The author compares the symptoms of materia medica and repertory. This research is made on original texts and afterwards compared to the translations. So he found, among the symptoms in Hartlaub & Trinks, many symptoms that aren’t in any other next, and connects it to some exemplary cases. Aspects that have been presented confirmed the importance of Hartlaub’s & Trinks’ Materia Medica Pura once it contains symptoms that are not presented in any other text, and correct those that were wrongly translated. The rescue stops being just a bibliophiler preciosity to show itself as a venture when one can find in its symptoms similarities with the patients. So Homeopathy presents itself in all its beauty and capacity of healing.
