ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study was to determine high school seniors’ views on general objectives of physical education in high school curriculum and to analyze the differences among high school seniors’ views according to their gender, taking part in school team or not and physical activity in free time or not. The universe of study consisted of high school seniors in Yenimahalle in Ankara in 2007-2008 school year. The sample of study consisted of 590 seniors [234 male (% 39.7) and 356 female (% 60.3)] who studying in 7 different high school in Yenimahalle in Ankara. During the study, “The Scale of Students’ Views on Physical Education General Objectives” and “Personal Information Form” completed as instruments to gather data. According to the data analyzed, there are significant differences according to gender, taking part in school team or not and physical activity in free time or not. According to results of the scale, the difference according to gender was in favour of male, the differences according to taking part in school team or not was in favour of students who take part in school team and the difference according to physical activity in free time was in favour of students who physically active in their free time.
