ABSTRACT
The beginning of three-dimensional television interest in the invention of stereoscopic comfortable is significantly increasing. Image feature improvement for stereo content is one of the most important techniques for three-dimensional display applications, in view of the fact that stereoscopic images are used to progress perceptions of practicality and depth. Additional integrated approach of cross-view image processing is clearly beneficial since humans do not recognize left and right images separately. A well-known unsharp marking algorithm has been extensively studied, which shows a robust and effective sharpness enhancement performance for an image which can be directly applied to each viewpoint image to produce an enhanced stereo image. In recent times, several studies have concentrated on finding a visibility threshold for a three dimensional image, and two types of thresholds, the just-noticeable difference in depth and the binocular just-noticeable difference were reported. The binocular just-noticeable difference, is related to the inter difference between the left and right views that a human can recognize. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can provide sharpness-enhanced stereo images without producing excessive distortion over the binocular just-noticeable difference. The binocular just-noticeable difference describes the minimum distortion in one view that evokes perceptual differences in the stereo image.
