ABSTRACT
Zanthoxylum tetraspermum W.A. (Rutaceae) is a medicinal plant traditionally used by the tribals. The present investigation deals with antioxidant activity of stem bark extract and was evaluated in a series of In-vitro assays involving free radicals and reactive oxygen species (ROS).The hydroethanolic plant extract exhibited itsscavenging effect in concentration dependent manner on superoxide anion radicals, hydroxyl radicals, hydrogen peroxide and DPPH radical scavenging activity. The results clearly indicate that the stem bark extract of Z.tetraspermum can be a potential source of natural antioxidant.
