In this paper the authors state that educating human resources for health sciences presently demands some awareness of the complexities involved in the practice of such professionals, as to require very high standards of education, within an educational paradigm shift toward a professional with a more significant humanistic charge. Universities, especially Health Sciences schools, should include in their undergraduate curriculum indispensable human values, as well as a moral and ethical ones by having students to apprehend and experience necessary and indispensable virtues such as diligence, service and responsibility. Acquiring those three virtues will improve the “human quality” of the Health Sciences practitioner by becoming better able to understand and deal with human suffering and the ill. We are proposing to incorporate into the curriculum of nursing, medical school, dentistry, and biotechnology educational strategies that will allow students to observe, learn and live values and virtues that will improve the ethical and moral education of professionals from those fields
