ABSTRACT
Statistical data indicate that myxoma is the most frequent primary tumor of the heart, it constitutes about one-half the cases. However, it is not so common in childhood as in adults. According to McAllister's study, these are rhabdomomas and teratomas to be considered as the most commonly occurring cardiac tumors in the young. In McAllister's series only 9% of 130 patients with this study were under 15 years of age. In this article we report the first case of atrial myxoma in an eight-year-old boy admitted to the children's medical center. The diagnosis was suggested clinically and confirmed by noninvasive echocardiographic method
