ABSTRACT
The article explores the stages of strategic planning in Ukraine, determined its value for industry in general and engineering industry in particular. We consider the legislative framework that regulates the process of strategic planning at three levels: national, regional and sectoral.Found that the number of strategic documents of various levels increases and decreases the effectiveness of their implementation. The legal framework of strategic planning is not complete and is mostly declarative.
