ABSTRACT
The Gibraltar Dialogue Forum, which was created in October 2004, focused its talks on four topics which, in principle, should not affect strategically relevant affairs. However, Spanish and British interests in the geographic area of the strait soon appeared in the conversations. For the United Kingdom, the military use of the airport; for Spain, the repairing of nuclear submarines in Gibraltar, which also affects another British interest: its strategic deployment of submarines. This article, apart from these aspects which were determinant during the two years of meetings that ended, for the time being, in Cordoba on 18 September, analyzes the vital interests of the two countries in the Gibraltar strait area.
