With the increasing amount of information availableon the Internet one of the most challenging tasks is to providesearch interfaces that are easy to use without having to learn aspecific syntax. Hence, we present a query interface exploiting theintuitiveness of natural language for the largest web-basedtourism platform.Various analyses shows how users formulate queries when theirimagination is not limited by conventional search interfaces withstructured forms consisting of check boxes, radio buttons andspecial-purpose text fields. The results of this field test are thusvaluable indicators into which direction the web-based tourisminformation system should be extended to better serve thecustomers.
