ABSTRACT
Recent recommendations from Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the American Academy of Family Physicians (AFM) and the American Medical Association (AMA) for vaccination of adolescents are based on current information about each vaccine. They suggest integration of vaccines recommended for children 11 and 18 years of age to the routine vaccination programme of childhood. According to this new strategy, better immunisation coverage and adherence to the hepatitis B, hepatitis A, tetanus and diphtheria toxoids, acellular pertussis (Tdap), measles, mumps and rubella (MMR), varicella, pneumococcal, meningococcal and human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccines will be achieved in adolescents.
