ABSTRACT
The African giant snail Achatina fulica is an exotic invasive specie that no posses natural predator and is present on many municipalities of Mato Grosso State and because this need attention. The purpose of this research is to describe the situation of African giant snail population, on one environmental protection area called “Tanque do Fancho” on Várzea Grande municipality. The field research was realized on September to December of 2007 and use as a tool for data collects: the local observation, photographic register and interview with questions related to the historic of the African giant snail in the place, its food behavior and way to control by the population.
