In recent years the researches on organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) increased rapidly. As a result of this growth some conceptual confusion about the OCB concept has been occurred. The purpose of this paper is to summarize and review the extant literature on OCB. The first section of this paper will define the OCB concept and construct that have been identified in the literature and summarize the dimensions of OCB. Next, it will explain the consequences of OCB on job satisfaction, motivation and organizational effectiveness.
