Numerous methods for synthesizing the oxazole ring system have been reported to date. Synthesis of oxazole is usually accomplished through the oxidized formsof ketones at a– position; such as a– haloketones, a– acylaminoketones, a- diazoketones as precursors. Various 3-acetanilido substituted aryl oxazoles, dimercapto,oxazoloindoles, oxazolones, isoxazoles, oxazetidines, carboxamide analogues of oxazoles were studied in the past decade and were found to possess remarkablepharmacological activities. The present review provides a broad view of the biological and medicinal properties expressed by compounds having oxazole nucleus.
