ABSTRACT
We are surrounded by information, which is generally abundant, and often contradictory. It is difficult to move among so many data, especially when experts disagree and our decisions are critical. I argue that the use of tools similar to those used in the scientific method and, in particular, the application of critical thinking to our daily lives, can help us to find the truth, or to approach it, in all these situations. The required abilities could be built up from school on, at the same time constructing a knowledge base that includes all the information relevant for a better understanding of the world we live in.
