To investigate the changes in plasma lipid profile, lipid peroxidation and antioxidant status in Bangladeshi pregnant women and their potential involvement in the pathophysiology of preeclampsia, we performed a case-control study consisting of randomly selected women (20-30 years) with preeclampsia (PE, n = 25) as compared to uncomplicated normal pregnant (UP, n = 22) and nonpregnant (NC, n = 25) women. The study was conducted in the Clinical Biochemistry Laboratory of Dhaka University.
