The present paper approaches the designand analysis of a three-phase Permanent MagnetSynchronous Motor(PMSM) for electrical powerassisted brake system in automotives. Finite elementmethod will be used in order to analyze theperformances of the machine at no-load regime. AFourier Tranformation has been applied to themachine characteristics for obtaining the parametersof an optimal power supply. As the industry has agreedthat the next step in development is to triple the voltageused in automobiles, the design of the presented PMsynchronous motor respects this trend, by using a 42DC bus voltage.
