The objective of this paper is to describe how the process of knowledge management assists in building skills in developing new products. The whole "data, information and knowledge" has been an important factor of competitiveness in different types of organizations. Prospect, filter and transfer this set is essential for the consolidation of organizational competitive intelligence. One of the areas of the business that best utilizes this set is the Process of Product Development - PDP. The PDP is an important source of competitive advantage for firms. And focus on the supply chain, one of the ways to manage it from this perspective is by addressing business processes. Thus results in integration of information management, knowledge management approach to competitive intelligence. As a result of this investigation highlights the complementary approach is relevant in view of the development of new products, providing a strategic focus on this type of organizational knowledge.
