ABSTRACT
The treatment given to the terms of Italian gastronomic when the translation for the subtitles in Portuguese, that is the theme of this article. The subtitling is the translation of linguistic signs of a historical language (1) through a other historical language (2). The choice of a term part of the consideration that the semantic features of lexical language (1) are manifest in the same grade and in its entirety, in the language (2). However, it is not easy to keep a perfect equivalence between all traits in two different systems and culture.
