ABSTRACT
An 18-year-old girl presented with progressive skin darkening, increased facial hair, and shrunken face for 9 years, and menstrual irregularity of 3 years duration. The was preceded by an attack of diarrhea. She was of average height but heavy muscular built. She had a characteristic gaunt, dark face with prominent bones, deep - set eyes, and sunken cheeks. She had hirsutism, acanthosis nigricans, generalised lipoatrophy, and clitoral hypertrophy. Investigations revealed normal endocrine profile and polycystic ovaries. The patient was diagnosed as a case of progressive generalised lipodystrophy.
