ABSTRACT
The coverage of regular aviation is associated with important externalities on regional economies. Based on this assumption, this work evaluates public policies that could stimulate the regional aviation segment in Brazil, creating room for an effective conversion of its potential into concrete benefits for the Brazilian society, both in terms of sector competition and geographic coverage of the services. The study shows that there are public policy actions that could stimulate regional aviation thus allowing for the appropriation of underlying externalities.
