This paper proposes a method for shape optimization for reduction of cogging torque in InteriorPermanent Magnet (IPM) motor. In the process of optimization, use the Taguchi Experiment Design andThe optimization is realized by analyses and simulations with Finite Element Analysis (FEA). The designoptimization process is described and results are presented in this paper. Results from simulations,indicate reduction of cogging torque and torque ripple and doesn't considerable 1.16% decrease of theaverage of motor’s output torque.
